Artist Statement

I joined photo II with the interest of learning more about photography. I had always had an interest in taking pictures of animals and abandoned places. I had no interest in taking pictures of people unless it was for a rare purpose. For this class I did not do what I wanted to, as the pictures I had interest in taking were not available to me. When I am older I have the hope of getting up close with animals and capturing their life. The pictures would be ones from both under the ocean and high above the ground.

In this class I did learn things I had no idea how to do with photos. It was neat to do something we now do with technology in its own way, to actually go through the old processes. I do not think that I will come back to using this first style of photography, but I am appreciative to have learned of the origins of photography and how my parents and grandparents would have done such a thing.

For my, photography shows many things, it tells many things. It tells things about the photographer and their image. It tells things about the world and shows stories that were never told. Photos always leave an open story to create, that's what makes them so fun.
